I use to be a cabinet maker apprentice, good gig, but a bit to much saw dust.
One thing that the trades I worked with and for is they sucked at feedback, positive or negative.
Want to know how to give good feedback, find out a persons success orientation filter and give them feedback that way and you will have a happy work force.
People will do one of the following; they will do an internal check of how they are going; they will do a external check by asking some one; do a internal check followed by a external check; a external check with a internal check.
Ask your self the following, “how do you know when you’re doing/have done a good job? What or who lets you know?”
Internal = where you know you have done a good job by how you feel, what you say to your self.
External = you know you have done a good job based of the feedback from others.
Internal with external check = you feel good/bad about the outcome of your work and you confirm that by asking people.
External with internal check = after asking other about your performance you measure that to how you feel you went.
